Reporting a Crime or Incident
How to Report an Incident
If you witness or are involved in a crime, emergency, or safety concern on campus, contact the Delta County Sheriff's Office immediately at(970) 874-2000. For life-threatening emergencies, always call911first.
TCR does not employ campus police. The Delta County Sheriff's Office serves as the primary law enforcement agency for our campus. All criminal activity should be reported directly to the Sheriff's Office, who will coordinate with TCR administration as needed.
You may also report incidents to any TCR staff member. Staff are trained to assist you in contacting the appropriate authorities and to document the incident for campus safety records.
Incident Report Form
Staff may also complete a written report using theTCR Incident Report Form (PDF).
Campus Safety Practices
Shared Responsibility
All TCR employees share responsibility for maintaining a safe campus environment. Security cameras are installed throughout the facility to monitor activity and assist in incident investigations. All visitors are required to check in at the front office upon arrival. If you see something that concerns you, report it to the nearest staff member immediately.
Student Conduct & Charges
Charges & Disciplinary Action
Criminal activity on campus will be reported to the Delta County Sheriff's Office, who will determine whether to file charges. TCR also reserves the right to take disciplinary action independently. Serious offenses, including violence, threats, possession of weapons, or substance abuse, may result in immediate suspension or expulsion in accordance with TCR student conduct policies.
Jeanne Clery Act
Clery Act Compliance
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires colleges and universities to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses. TCR complies fully with all Clery Act requirements.
Our annual Campus Safety & Security Report covers current security policies and procedures for reporting crimes and emergencies, and our Campus Safety and Security Survey reports three years of campus crime statistics. Both are available to all current and prospective students and employees.
